A week that was only bookended by wins was one of the most dominant bullpen weeks ever.
I didn't do any additional research for anything any better, but in 6 games, including the final three pitchers last Saturday, there have been a total of 17 appearances by seven different pitchers throwing 19 innings, giving up 6 hits, 0 runs, walking 5 and striking out 26. I am getting more comfortable with this bullpen.
69 - Yes Bullpen has been great so far. I hope they can sustain it.
Unfortunately, I have seen way too may games where the Mets bullpen looked great in a loss only to fail to perform in a close one run game. They did their job tonight.
I also hope they carry a couple of less pitchers at some point to give them more options off the bench.
69 - Per Newsday: Mets: Nimmo exited with a bruised left index finger after fouling off a 1-2 pitch in the seventh. X-rays were negative. … Davis left the game with a left hand sprain. He also was hurt at bat during a strikeout in the sixth. Both are day to day, Rojas said.
The Mets score in the first! A Polar Bear Double with a RISP! Very nice.

ReplyDeleteBack to back doubles...who are these guys! I'll take it.
ReplyDelete4 hits in a row! Pete, Conforto, Davis and now Dom! Tom must have sent a wake up call.

ReplyDeleteThe bats will come around.
Don't be satisfied with 4
ReplyDeleteAnd we are tied.
ReplyDeletePer Steve Gelb - Brandon Nimmo left the game in the middle of his at-bat. Couldn't tell what happened, but he came out after a foul ball.
ReplyDeleteKevin Pillar inherited the plate appearance and struck out. That K gets charged to Nimmo.
This may turn out to be our worst loss in years.
ReplyDeleteWho plays 3B tomorrow?

How did Davis hurt his hand?

Hey Almora finally got into a game...horray!
69 - all I know is that it is a left hand sprain that got Davis out of the game.
