Tonight’s Lineup: Jeff McNeil 2B; Francisco Lindor SS; Michael Conforto RF; Pete Alonso 1B; Dominic Smith LF; Kevin Pillar CF; Jonathan Villar 3B; James McCann C; David Peterson P;
Remarkably low averages of Mets starters tonight
ReplyDeletePete at .263
4 between .217 and .229
3 ranging from .115 to .180s
Twenty hits sorely needed
Pete has 25 Ks to 20 hits...Conforto has 20 Ks to 17 hits. So not only is the average low, they aren't even putting the ball in play.
ReplyDeleteHey Donnie...tell the guys to shorten the swing with 2 Ks and put the ball in play...especially with RISP and less than 2 outs!
Peterson Ks the side in the second....OK bats let's get going.
ReplyDeleteI can see them sending Dom with no out as the offense is slumping...but Dom is not fleet a foot and guys...no outs...I know...no one can hit with RISP anyway...so why not.
Peterson - 73 pitches through 4 innings.
ReplyDeletePer Anthony DiComo - "The Mets' two main lineup additions, Francisco Lindor and James McCann, are now batting a combined .191 with three extra-base hits over the first month-plus of the season."
ReplyDeleteMy first guess was to bring in Reid-Foley instead of Castro...oh well. Castro has been great. Mets still need to hit. Lindor a weak fly with bases juiced not helpful.
