.@STR0 is asked his feelings on today's outing:
— SNY (@SNYtv) August 1, 2021
"Some days it just doesn't go your way. I'm not really worried about it. Just wash it and prepare for my next start, like I always do" pic.twitter.com/Q8uJmA5ttd
"Confidence doesn't waver ever... It's not something we can dwell on in the clubhouse. It's not something we can sit and hope that he's going to be back here tomorrow, as much as we all do"

Luis Rojas details what went wrong against Vladimir Gutierrez today:
— SNY (@SNYtv) August 1, 2021
"I thought today he was mixing all his pitches, but we chased a lot. We were probably overly aggressive against him. We expanded too much" pic.twitter.com/bUMQom9oZ4
"We've just got to do it. I think we need to be more stubborn with our approach. We've got to believe in it more... We have to make this adjustment immediately" - Luis Rojas on the team's approach at the plate & the lack of consistent offense pic.twitter.com/fkj8EGypPC

ANOTHER injury, out of the blue: Luis Guillorme has a left hamstring strain and is going on the IL.

CBS Sports:
- Mets fail to sign Kumar Rocker after taking Vanderbilt righty with No. 10 pick in 2021 MLB Draft
- How the New York Mets botched their Kumar Rocker selection in the 2021 MLB Draft - Had the Mets taken a player in the later rounds as a contingency plan, their present situation wouldn't be as bleak. They would've lost his allotted slot amount ($4.74 million) by failing to ink him, but they still could've used the savings from their other picks (nearly $1 million) to sign the flier.
"Following (Rocker's) physical, the Mets and Rocker did not negotiate another number"

Kumar Rocker does not plan to return to Vanderbilt, source confirms @JeffPassan report. Signing with a professional league outside the U.S. is one option under consideration, but by current rules he’d need to go through 2022 Draft to enter MLB. @MLBNetwork

Forget the Mets, other than to repeat: Stroman needs runs. No criticism of him from me.
ReplyDeleteCortes and Vientos on a tear.
Brian Metoyer back strong. Watch him.
Time to bring Cortes and Vientos to AAA and Mauricio to AA. Nick Meyer also needs to go to AAA so both he and Senger (in AA) can play every day. Mauricio also should be moved to the outfield.
ReplyDeleteAlso, as Ernest Dove said on his Radio show yesterday - Peroza and Montas need to go to Brooklyn.
