The Mets are home to play the Miami Marlins. It's the final game of the three game series.
Tonight’s Lineup: Jonathan Villar 2B; Brandon Nimmo CF; Francisco Lindor SS; Pete Alonso 1B; Michael Conforto RF; Javier Baez 2B; Jeff McNeil LF; Patrick Mazeika C; Carlos Carrasco P;
Great finish to a very sloppy game. 7 errors committed between the two teams, Marlins runner doubled off first on a liner to RF, and a balk to score the 3rd Mets run from 3B. Kudos to Lindor for baiting the pitcher into the balk, and to Baez for a crafty fake of the runner that got doubled off.
ReplyDeleteAll that said, this is why the Mets are a .500 team. You can win sloppy games against the bottom of the league, but you have to make your own breaks against the likes of the Dodgers, Giants, Brewers, and Braves.
Well said Paul. Of course, if there offense was firing on all cylinders, they'd cover up a lot of these mistakes.
