Riley Stanford
RHP Buford HS
Mack's spin -
I have him a little higher on my board than others because I like the 97 heater and the added projection that he could go as an outfielder in this draft.
For now, I have him only on my RHP board, as #14.

99 Riley Stanford
RHP/OF
Buford
Gainesville, GA XL frame with plenty of projection remaining. Up to 97 at WWBA, but we think his future is in the outfield. Stanford's athleticism for his size really stands out. In the field, he plays an instinctual brand of defense with solid routes to the ball. The raw power at the plate is big... mammoth even. He quite comfortably has the best barrel speed in the class, approaching 85mph at it's best. Only Jayson Jones can say he tested above 80mph in this class. On the mound, he's got feel for a big breaking ball, but the fastball is his bread and butter. That said, Stanford can lose the strikezone from time to time, but the stuff is signficant and loud. There's some reliever risk here, but you'd be hard pressed to find better pure arm talent. Stanford could end up in the field or on the mound, or as a two-way guy if he gets to school.
