Anyone else ready to join team Wilmer Reyes?
ReplyDeleteReyes has to be opening eyes.
ReplyDeleteTough night for Baty and Holderman.
Funny that the Mets' squad's starter, who got roughed up, was named Wilmer Flores.
Funny, in his last AB, Cortes flew out to Cespedes in CF. Yo's bro had a short, but decent minor league season.
Wilmer Reyes is a right handed Guillorme with speed who can play more positions (1B and OF too) plus go in as a pinch runner late in games. He is an extremely valuable roster piece as a bench player but I think his bat will force him into the lineup everyday. Plus if he continues to walk like he has in the AFL - we could be seeing the next Rickey Henderson!
ReplyDeleteRickey Henderson?? Let's have him go from Wilmer Reyes to Jose Reyes first LOL
ReplyDeleteJose never walked - that was the beef against him. He would hit .300 and have something like a .305 OBP. Wilmer Reyes has been drawing a lot of walks so far in the AFL. Not sure if he can keep this up but it is an amazing sign.
ReplyDeleteReyes has a very high OBP this year. Hopefully, he gets to play a lot to make up for all the lost time. They had to like him a lot to send him to the AFL.
ReplyDeleteJOHN, you ever find out why Flores missed all that time this season?
Yes. Wilmer Reyes hurt his knee in the Minor League Spring training. That is why it is so great seeing him run the way he has so far this Fall. Also, he is now back at Shortstop. When he came back this year he played mostly 2B in the FCL and 1B at Brooklyn.
ReplyDeleteReyes just needs to keep on rollin'.
