Buck Showalter has 3 year deal to manage Mets

Steve sinks the putt. Buck, to me, has been the best man for the job from the beginning of this process. He checks all the boxes. Right man. Right team. Right time. Perfect fit. Mets, despite the lockout are having a fabulous off season. https://t.co/8gg6N2YRzG

This may be a historic move. I don’t think another @MLB team has ever had their owner use Twitter to announce the new team manager. #LGM #MetsRewind pic.twitter.com/qwTjgLiFJl

Buck Showalter is the Mets' most experienced manager hire since their first, Casey Stengel, who joined the franchise ahead of their 1962 debut.
— Tim Healey (@timbhealey) December 18, 2021
Stengel had 21 seasons of major-league managerial experience. Showalter has 20.
46 years after he won the Cape Cod League MVP for Hyannis in 1976, Buck Showalter will wear a Mets uniform again.

I had a buck on Buck. Good choice.
ReplyDeleteGood hire…….seems like the team needs the veteran managerial experience.
ReplyDeleteNow, who will fill out the coaching staff, outside of Hefner, of course.
There is some saying there was no creativity here
ReplyDeleteWe had creativity last year.
Well Stevie proved "the buck stops here"
ReplyDeleteActually was hoping for Espada, but can't argue with this choice.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Joe E. as bench coach & manager-in-waiting after a 3-yrs retirement blitz be Buck?
