78 Tommy Specht OF
Wahlert
Dubuque, IA
Ultra-physical kid with a huge arm from the outfield. Specht has a powerful, lefty swing that show authority especially pull-side. Specht is a plus runner with plus raw power and a plus arm. He's one of the better all-around athletes in the class with a keen eye at the plate. Specht is continuing to improve his quality and consistency of good contact.

13. Los Angeles Angels
Landon Sims, RHP, Mississippi State
It should come as no surprise we have the Angels going the pitching route as every single one of their 20 selections in 2021 were arms. General Manager Perry Minasian wants to build the organization on the bump and Sims would certainly be a dynamite addition. Armed with the best two-pitch combo in the class, Sims has a chance deliver two 70-grade offerings as a pro if the velo continues to tick up. He’s as fiery a competitor you can find in this class.
If he proves he can sustain success over long innings in 2022, he’s the type of talent that fits at the top-half of the first round. 2021 first rounder Sam Bachman arguably possesses two 70-grade pitches. Sims is cut from the same cloth.

177 Jacob Reimer 3B Yucaipa
Yucaipa, CA
When it comes to Reimer, it's all about the bat. There's significant bat speed here and a keen sense for the barrel. A big-bodied high school infielder, there are concerns on his ability to stick on the left side of the infield moving forward, but much of that leans on how his body matures. Reimer is a solid defender with a good arm, so the natural tools are there. Reimer tends to get pull-heavy at times, but the talent is present and projectable.

91 Jett Williams SS Rockwall-Heath Heath, TX
Williams does everything on the baseball field with intent. At the plate, there's quick wrists and an attacking path to the ball. The swing is extremely short and he does a very good job taking his hands to the ball. On the dirt, Williams is a bouncy middle infielder with rangy actions and fluidity around the bag and makings his throws. Smallish frame projects into an impact, top-of-the-lineup spark plug type of performer.
I like Tommy Sprecht and Landon Simms here
ReplyDeleteLandon Sims is going rotation this season and, world, look out.
