Avitia is a bit of a unicorn in that he has an extremely low launch and still induces a good bit of hop on his fastball. It's the prototype heater that explodes at the top of the zone. Avitia lives in the upper 80s and low 90s, but misses a ton of bats due to his metrics.
He's got tremendous control and walks hardly anyone, making him a high-floor, metric darling. He'll work in an average changeup and a promising curveball, though he's heater-heavy right now with plenty of development ahead.
