Kyle Evans - Mets prospect Brett Baty leaves Triple-A game with thumb soreness -
New York Mets No. 2 prospect Brett Baty is scheduled to undergo imaging tests after injuring his right thumb in Tuesday’s game at Triple-A Syracuse.
The 23-year-old required surgery for a torn ligament in that same thumb last September. This latest issue is being called right thumb soreness for now.
Baty started the season in Syracuse after losing the third-base job to Eduardo Escobar in spring training. He had gotten off to a strong start to the season, going 5-for-14 with two home runs and a stolen base in three games.
Today's imaging showed "no structural damage ". He's the traditional "day-to-day".
