Lefty reliever Nate Lavender hasn't allowed an ER in June for Syracuse Mets. Ongoing focus is command. In June 4 inn 2 BB 7 K.

Ernest Dove (@ernestdove)  -

Alumni:

This Day in Mets History (@NYMhistory)  -

6/18/2013 The Mets showcase two of their young starting pitchers in a doubleheader against the Braves. In the first game, Matt Harvey takes a no-hitter into the seventh and strikes out 13 batters. Zack Wheeler follows with six scoreless frames in his major league debut.

Draft News:

Brian Sakowski (@B_Sakowski_PG) -

I’m not going to call this an official number but per my roster perusal and counting, over 30 former JUCO players are amongst the players in Omaha. So, basically, a full team roster of JUCO bandits playing on college baseball’s biggest stage

Ian Smith (@FlaSmitty)  -

Despite missing 98% of his senior season, it’s likely longest track record of a high-level hit tool in the prep class. Elite frame (6-2, 205) with massive power projection. Real potential for A/A to plus @ 3B. Plenty of reasons why Aidan Miller is a near 1st round

(Mack - Mets target)

  1. Will they draft a hitter? They need pitchers, half of whom crumble.

Juarez is moving into the serious consideration phase. Maybe he’ll be our Whitey Ford…dream big.

    1. The trend for Cohen’s draft team is to pick the big.names left in the first 5 rounds.

I am depressed reading this about the lack of talented pitching

I thought it was pretty good.

I communicated to Cohen privately that my pick would be Florida pitcher Anthony Walters

The Mets have to keep drafting.pitchets like they did 2 drafts ago.

I'm writing tomorrow morning about the dismal state the pipeline starters are in this season

      Draft 5 to find 1 maybe 2

    3. Wouldn't be nice if Juarez was for real?

The Mets have failed miserably over the last decade in developing relievers

Ones on my radar right now

      AAA. Parsons Lavender

      AA. Juarez

      A+ Gervase. Alkeney Ramos. Tebrake

  2. Mack,
Pick # 32,should be the best player available. Pitching for the rest of the draft. If the best available at # 32 is a pitcher, then we have the best of both worlds.

  3. Whatever pick they make it has to work out because the 11th is my Birthday and what can be better than 7-11!
