BING OF Tanner Murphy – transferred from AAA Syracuse to AA Binghamton

 

 BING C Jose Mena – placed on Development List at AA Binghamton

 

Mets signed OF Rafael Ortega to a minor league deal and assigned him to Syracuse.

 

Player Of The Day -

 

PODs this day go to RHSP Vinny Nattoli (2-IP, 0-R, 2-K) and RHRP Hunter Parsons (3-IP, 0-R, 5-K, 0.00); they threw a shortened five inning shutout.

 

BTW… Parson’s cobined BING/SYR stat line so far this season is 17-APPS, 5-2, 3.16, 1.09, 25.2-IP, 32-K. Getting close to earning “blue” prospect recognition.

Ernest Dove (@ernestdove)  - RP Paul Gervase continues to have one of the highest K rates in Mets minor league system (26.2 inn 41 K) 1.35 ERA through 16 app allowing .144 opp AVG.  High BB rate continues to be a thing to watch.

 

Ernest Dove (@ernestdove)  - Human stolen base cheat code Omar de los Santos quietly hitting .321 in June down in High A Brooklyn.  He has 24 stolen bases on the season.

 Free agent pitcher Stephen Nogosek has signed a deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks, per source.

 Nogosek became a free agent after turning down an outright minor league assignment by the New York Mets earlier this week.

  1. Julio Zayas continues his stunning start in DSL.

    Joe Suozzi, undrafted son of a Congressman, is hitting .333 in 99 at bats in May and June, and off to a terric start since his AA promo. Amazing.

  2. Suozzi is a super-impressive .339/.415/.519 in his first 17 AA games.

    All he had to do was get out of Brooklyn.
