The Daily Mets Minor League Update - June 27th

Morning.

Mark C. Healey @MarkCHealey

I think Buck Showalter is a great manager. But I think we are seeing what happens when a great baseball mind is being controlled by a GM and FO that thinks analytics means more than baseball IQ.

Mets are at a crossroads. Media is following the fans in coming for Buck. Even Gary Cohen is channeling Gary Thorne (when he went after Bobby V on air) and openly questioning the skipper.

Maybe Buck has lost the fans and the media, because they smell blood in the water.

But if I were Buck, I would march upstairs and sat, “If you’re going to fire me at the end of the season anyway, I’m going to manage this club my way, or you can just fire me right now.”
