Today’s POD is a AAA outfielder making a splash last night in Syracuse. 34-year old Abraham Almonte  hit two home runs and drove in four runs. 

In 65 at-bats this season, over two levels, he has hit six homers, batted .246, and has an OPS of .937.

After going 4-for-37 a nine-game stretch, Syracuse shortstop Ronny Mauricio is 5-for-13 with four RBIs, a

home run, and a double. Mauricio leads the International League with 97 hits (Two more second), is second with 25 doubles, and is second with 39 extra-base hits. Mauricio has 29 multi-hit games in 77 games played this season.

Jonathan Araúz reached a season-low batting

average of .238 after June 11th’s game. Since that point, Araúz is hitting .315 in 20 games with 12 RBIs, six home runs, four doubles, nine walks, 18 strikeouts, and a 1.009 on-base plus slugging percentage. Araúz’s 13 home runs this season are a career-high, surpassing his 11-homer mark in 115 games in 2019 combined between Advanced-A Fayetteville and Double-A Corpus Christi while he was in the Astros’ organization.

Luke Ritter has reached base in eight of his last nine

games, going 10-for-31 (.323) with five RBIs, a home run, two doubles, five walks, and six strikeouts. Since rejoining Syracuse from Double-A on June 13th, Ritter is hitting .260 with ten RBIs, four home runs, two doubles, nine walks, and 21 strikeouts. In his last 21 games since June 13th, Ritter has seven multi-hit games.
