Player Of The Day -

Ya know, very few relievers make the POD because they usually throw only one inning and my cutoff is two, and this guy’s one scoreless inning last night is no big deal, right?

But in the case of Cyclones’ reliever, Paul Gervase, you have to look at the entire body of water this season:

20-appearances, 1.07-ERA, 33.2-IP, 52-K

Look for a move here soon.

Syr:

Going in…

Ernest Dove (@ernestdove):

DJ Stewart slashed .290/.412/.638/1.050 in June so "prospect" or not this is a well deserved call up.

  1. Jett on fire, Reimer raking.

Alex Ramirez very disappointing this year.

Daniel Murphy first 10 AAA games in Angels org? .342/.413/.488. Unlike Vogie, he can also play the field and run. Another dumb Murph (non)move for Mets.

    1. Last night was a Rehab assignment for Reimer

  2. Don’t be so down on Vogie. That week off seemed to rejuvenate him. Buck sees him as the big bat this club needs.

  3. Re: Vogelbach, are you referring to the revived Vogelbach, or the one on the Mets who is 2 for 18 in his last 7 games?

Murphy would have been an upgrade. He was nearby in Islip. Now he is 2000 miles away, signed with someone else.

  4. Reimer has gone 25 for 66 (.380) and 10 walks in his last 20 games after May. Only the last game was the rehab assignment. That is tremendous for a 19 year old.

And he has been hit 10 times by pitches this year. (Fellow 19 year old Jett 12 times - target practice in Florida).

Both he and Reimer have been on base like made after Memorial Day.

    1. He has the potential to be a big contact bat

Evidence is his sacrifice fly yesterday

  6. Ray, maybe. As a Vogie former supporter, can do much better than DV.
