Tom Brennan - Mark, Ronny, DJ, Stanley, Kevin, Paul, and Jordan

I'm Always on the Lookout for Strong Performers

Mark Vientos made an error, but otherwise had a stellar night…a walk, Single, HR, and deep line out. Maybe this is it for him, finally. Maybe Ronny is inspiring him.

Ronny had 2 more hits, and a steal, and is now 4 for 7.

DJ Stewart is the second coming of the Bambino, hitting his 10th.

Stanley Consuegra started out his Brooklyn season with little extra base hit production.

Now, he is absolutely hitting them in Ruthian fashion! With 14 homers since the start of July.

Kevin Parada’s smile came back - he cracked a 3 run shot in a 3-0 Binghamton win.

Finally, Paul Gervase  scuffled just a bit when he was promoted to AA.

BUT THE LAST 3 OUTINGS?

4.1 innings, one hit, no runs, 11 Ks. ELEVEN!

Come on now!  90 Ks in 54 innings. Dang!

No, really finally…

Jordan Geber fired 6 shutout innings for Binghamton last night in his AA debut. AWESOME!

  1. If we go by who actually deserves to be in Queens, Cortes should be up too over Ortega. What the fk are the Mets thinking with this crap? Ortega is 32… enough with the retreads already. We’re tired of seeing scrubs and want to progress already.

    1. They signed some reliever from the Indi... err... Guardians yesterday with an ERA in the range of 8

Maybe I'm too old to understand this anymore

      Thank God football has returned

  2. Take away that initial Gervase hiccup and his career stat line is overwhelming impressive

  4. Mack, very true. Gervase’s one issue was control. It has gotten better. Could be up in early 2024 at this rate.

  5. Mack, it is all mystifying. We Luv Retreads.

I’d call up Gervase and say, “Big fella, get out there and throw strikes.”

  6. The Mets need to:

    1. Lose today

    2. Freeze the 2023 rosters

    3. Stop signing old retreads

    4. Lose the next series

    5. Keep losing

    6. Bring Buck up to speed with future plans

    7. Secure the 1.6 pick

    8. Hire David Stearns

    9. Let Stearns evaluate GM position

    10. Build a new coaching system at all levels with emphasis on development abilities

    11. Replace the Mets manager

    12. Fire all the Mets coaches

    13. Develop a minor league system where AAAA players don't clog up prospects growth

    14. Promote the 4 AABl starters to AAA for OD 2024

    15. Hire 50 more stateside scouts

    16. Hire 25 more international scouts

  7. I just getting to the point of "I'm OK with Vogy" and then he suddenly has a brain fart reminiscent of Casey's old 62' Mets. Once again how did the team let him play sooo out of shape because don't they spend millions on players conditioning coaches not that it would have helped night but OMG man have some pride you looked like a total buffoon out there. he losses 100lbs and he would actually be a player we could use...BUCK talk to the man! I know we are are more interested in losing for the draft pick but were playing some exciting baseball against playoff caliber opponents and after a truly miserable season this is fun so wait till next year has some real meaning.

  9. Mr Mack I don’t think the M,ets are guaranteed the 6 spot but they are in a weighted lottery. They could be #1 or #12 depending on luck.
