Meet Mack - a new interview of a familiar guy

For readers of this site, Mack Ade is the constant.  He created the site, recruited the many voices that have written for the site, and is a constant presence in the ongoing story of the New York Mets.

Mack has been around for a while.  A long while.  He has forgotten more than most of us ever knew about the Mets and the world of professional baseball.  His research into thousands of aspiring baseball players from their early years through prospect years and into the majors is an unmatched legacy in the world of baseball blogs.

Mack announced his retirement from active writing months ago, but he is still with us.  You can count on a timely comment or a guest post to show up from him because his interest in the team and its players and fans never wanes.

Since not every reader knows Mack, it makes sense to give them a view into the guy who started all this.

Here is a link to a recent interview done by Mets360.com author Brian Joura.  It is worth the read!

Hey Mack, read this interview with Mr. Ade!

  1. Mack's a 5 tool player. Singing, strumming, writing, leading, inspiring. Handsome dude, too.

  3. Certainly Bryce Montas de Oca will be poached for the same reason we poached Penn Murfee.
I think this is a mistake...Bryce's 100 mph arm could have been kept off the 40-man roster,
on the IL-60, while rehabbing from TL surg.
I realize Mets wanted him off the 40-man NOW, to make room NOW, but I think we just lost
    an injured top prospect.

  6. Seems like Counsell is using the Mets to up the ceiling on managerial salaries and then staying with the Brewers if they match the offer.

    If so... pass

  7. I can only think two things with de Oca:

    1) maybe they are suspect that this second Tommy John surgery will be successful. 2) Maybe they feel he'd miss most of 2024, so some other team would not want him for that reason.

Best wishes for the velocity and movement freak of nature to make an ultimately successful recovery. He missed SO much time in his career, I am not surprised. Saddened a bit.

    The others? See ya.

    2. De Oca is supposed to be out almost all of this coming season.

    3. Also, let’s not forget de Oca is wild, and coming off TJ it might take him a year or two to find his real ease point successfully again.

  8. Does anyone have a list of the Rule V players who should be added to the roster.

  10. Apparently, the six players the Mets placed on outright waivers on 11/2/23 all went unclaimed, including Bryce Montes de Oca. Teams only had 47 hours to put in a claim.
