Per MLB.com:
“In addition to all 40-man roster players and another dozen veterans who signed Minor League free-agent contracts, the Mets…announced that they have invited 10 prospects to Major League camp.
“It's a group that includes outfielder Drew Gilbert, infielder Jett Williams, catcher Kevin Parada, and pitchers Mike Vasil, Dominic Hamel and Christian Scott. Vasil and Scott in particular are of interest as starters who could help the Mets this season.
“One other prominent prospect, Luisangel Acuña, will be in camp but didn't need a separate invitation because he's already on the Mets' 40-man roster.”
I guess there wasn’t enough “room at the inn” for Messrs. Gervase and Stuart, but congrats to those who are invited to the Big Camp.
Since Alex Ramirez is on the 40 man, I assume he will be in camp, too.
I am waiting for my invite. A seasoned, hard throwing lefty. Obviously my main pitch is a screwball.

DeleteI went on a rant yesterday and may have chased people away
I don't remember seeing it, but could it be called a "McRant"? 😁
DeleteYou have to be better than that to chase me away.
ReplyDeleteGus may be last seen on one of those migrant buses
ReplyDeleteAs for this post
ReplyDeleteI was told by a Mets coach once that the only reason.players like these are invited is to, fill in when regulars are.pulled early in ST and, two, to fill split team assignments
Tomorrow I discuss my observations re: past Pitcher/catcher days
I agree with those reasons, but giving the ML staff a "sneak peek" has to be included.
ReplyDeleteAnd every once in a while, one of the invitees actually sticks on OD.
Is Belt on his way?
ReplyDeleteBelt would be a good add I think.
