Mets:

Question - 81.5 over/under wins…

            Ernest Dove @ernestdove Mar 25, 2024:

Over.  They have some star power. The arms obviously long way to go to be anything close to their spring success but they overall look good and Senga is to return. There's also multiple top 10 prospects itching to debut & it may finally be time to deal other prospects at deadline

"It's something bigger than me, that's for sure."

Shortly after learning of his grandmother's death, Zack Short received the news that he had made the Mets' roster.

On an incredibly emotional morning for Short, a New York native who grew up a Mets fan

Mike Mayer @mikemayer22 Mar 24, 2024:

Stanley Consuegra has been known as a guy who hits the ball hard, this double was 117.2 mph.

The Mets, as a team, have 4 balls hit that hard in the entire Statcast era.

Mike Mayer  @mikemayer22 Mar 25, 2024:

The Mets have released right-handed pitcher Peyton Battenfield.

The Mets claimed Battenfield off waivers last September, and he pitched in one spring training game this year.

Anthony DiComo @AnthonyDiComo Mar 24, 2024:

First baseman Jiman Choi did not exercise the opt-out clause in his minor league deal, per source. He will report to Triple-A Syracuse and remain part of the Mets organization.

Shortstop Jose Iglesias said this morning that he will likely do the same.

TRAVIS BAZZANA HAS HIT A LEADOFF HOME RUN IN FOUR CONSECUTIVE GAMES

TigerNet.com @ClemsonTigerNet Mar 24, 2024:

Clemson Blake Wright has nine homers in his last 10 games. That is pretty good.

TigerNet.com @ClemsonTigerNet Mar 24, 2024:

Clemson baseball media relations expert Brian Hennessy says yesterday's ninth-inning comeback was probably the second-biggest in school history, topped only by the 13-run ninth to beat N.C. State, 17-15, in April 1995.

Former South Carolina coach and current AD Ray Tanner was Wolfpack coach that day, and tells a humorous story. The next day, as he went out to get his newspaper, a neighbor said "Great win yesterday, coach." Tanner asked "When did you leave the game?"

Ian Smith @IanSmittyGA  Mar 24, 2024:

Good look at 2024 C Luca Perriello yesterday.

Syncs up well with present bat speed and good length through the zone. Showed easy carry off the bat.

Plus arm behind the plate in a physical, athletic frame.

Hokies Baseball commit.

  1. Nice array of interesting stuff, Mack. I guess his school is Bananas for Bazzana. Who wouldn’t be?

I am hoping for a huge year from Stanley Consuegra. 117.2 MPH? Dang. If Marte suddenly ages out (I sure hope not), Stan could be the man.

With JDM on the team, I am calling for 85-90 wins, so I say 87.5 over/under.

  2. Zach Short seems like a poor man’s Mark Canha. Lots of walks and HBPs.

  3. Justin Slaten, the Mets rule 5 selection who was traded to the Red Sox, has made the Red Sox 2024 roster. The Mets received Ryan Ammons in that trade.

  4. D J, with the Mets' pitching situation, I wonder if he would have made the Mets.

  5. Tom,
It would appear that he would not have made the team.Hopefully Ryan Ammons will be a good prospect for us in the future.Mack had a good evaluation for him after the Mets made the trade.
