Mack - Draft Notes
(thru Friday’s results)

JJ Wetherholt is heating up
With this jack, the 2024 Draft prospect has homered in back-to-back games. WVU Baseball
Aaron Fitt @aaronfitt
My report from Morgantown: Derek Clark showed his huge heart and went 9 innings for the 4th straight start, and superstar JJ Wetherholt looked more like his old self in Saturday's win vs UCF, as WVU Baseball looks more & more like a Big 12 title favorite:
Teddy Cahill @tedcahill
JJ Wetherholt coming out of the game after getting drilled in the ribs in the 10th inning.
Between his on-going hamstring recovery, the fact he's DH-ing and just got plunked, I'll assume this is mostly WVU trying to get as much speed on 1B as possible in a tie game
Jac Caglianone. NINE straight.
The 2024 Draft prospect ties the all-time NCAA record for contests with a homer.
Joe Doyle @JoeDoyleMiLB
What Jac Caglianone is doing this year in college baseball simply shouldn't be possible. In an entirely separate stratosphere than the entire college baseball population
No. 21 for Braden Montgomery. No. 4 in his last 5 games.
Charlie Condon is a cheat code, man. 24 homers already. This one a moon ball at 108 mph.
Ben Badler @BenBadler
24 home runs in 36 games is bonkers

MLB Pipeline @MLBPipeline
12 homers in 9 games
2024 Draft prospect Nick Kurtz is on an absolute TEAR.
Wake Baseball
516 feet?!? Seven straight games with a HR?!
Jac Caglianone demolishes this one over the scoreboard for a monstrous projected distance
Tyler Jennings @TylerJennings24
Time for the pitching highlights from last night:
Drew Beam struck out five across 6.2 IP on 106 pitches. FB held 93-96 all night (T97), CB was 80-83 with varying shape, leaned upon heavily. Gained feel for mid-80s CH late and flashed a CT at 88-90. Pure workhorse starter.
Luke Holman took a no-hitter into the sixth despite not having his best stuff. FB has carry at 90-93, though the SL was his best pitch. 80-84 with more gyro shape, racked up a few whiffs. Bigger CB in mid-70s, flashed splitter in warm-ups. Command was streaky, however.
LSU is scratching back, as Tommy White nearly clears the party deck in RF with a massive two-run HR. Got a CB middle-middle and did not miss it. Have always loved his power, future plus that plays to all fields with ease. He's just outside the first round for us
MLB Pipeline @MLBPipeline
Tommy White clears the party deck
The 2024 Draft prospect -- who eclipsed 20 homers each of the past two seasons -- now has 12 big flies on the year.
Kendall Rogers @KendallRogers
Ethan Petry had a big day -- a home run, two hits and three RBIs as Gamecock Basebll rebounds from the A&M series with a road series win over Florida. As for the Gators, they are officially in scramble mode.
Joe Doyle @JoeDoyleMiLB
No. 20 for Braden Montgomery. How often do you find a prospect with this kind of bat speed from both sides of the plate. Special.
Oregon State 2B Travis Bazzana was hit by a pitch in the hand and was removed from the game. He now has his hand wrapped in what appears to be a soft cast. Hopefully just an ice pack, but obviously worth monitoring.
Nick Kurtz cannot stop nuking.
No. 14(!!) in his last 10 games.
Teddy Cahill @tedcahill
Tim Corbin on Jac Caglianone:
"I think he's pitchable. You throw four balls away from the plate and walk him.
"He's a unique guy inside this conference. I don't know. In all the years I've been coaching, very few like him."
JJ Cooper @jjcoop36

Got a chance to see one of the bigger risers in NJ yesterday against a tough St Augustine lineup. Plus arm speed. FB up to 94 multiple times in the 1st (95 on at least one scout's gun), sat 90-93. Flashed sharp breaker
Ian Smith @IanSmittyGA
Quality swing yesterday from one of the hottest bats in the peach state.
