OPEN THREAD - Mets-Dodgers Best-Of-Seven Predictions

GIVE US YOUR PREDICTIONS, PEOPLE

The predictions are all yours. The series starts tonight.

Who wins this series?  How many games?

Series MVP?

Tell us what YOU think is going to happen.

Don't be shy.

BTW, McNeil was 1 for 5 Saturday in AZ. So he played 2 full games Friday and Saturday, with 10 PAs. Says he feels great.

No doubt, still some rust, but those 2 games probably have him at 90% to 95%.

  1. I’m going with the Mets in 6 games. NLCS MVP? The Squirrel, who else?

  2. I want to say Mets in six, but the sixth game is in Los Angeles, so, Mets in five. I read a little note that since his game 1 HR against Cease, Ohno has been a bit off. May he fall from a cliff production wise. May Betts hit nothing but line drives right at fielders. And May the Mets play like a team worth of winning instead of a team of knuckleheads that throw the ball to a base that isn’t covered but the ball hits the bag and stays there, or pitchers that don’t cover first, run into the catcher fielding a ball or don’t bother holding runners. They should give half their playoff shares each to Lindor. MVP: Brandon Nimmo. Come get us!

  3. Mets in a 7 games. Lindor the Mets MVP with Vientos a close second.

  4. Mets in 6. Winker MVP. He seems to have good numbers against the Dodgers righties.

  5. Mets in 5 because we have to win it at home! OMG yes!

  6. I want to ride the wave of success and predict an early victory, but the Dodgers have a very formidable and dangerous team. Since the Mets have demonstrated the ability to come through late, I am predicting the Mets in 7 games. Lindor seems the obvious choice for MVP but my darkhorse is Vientos who has been undaunted by the playoff pressure, producing a 1.18 OPS so far.

  7. Tom, your choice of McNeil for MVP is interesting. When I first saw McNeil hit, I said he was another Daniel Murphy. Years later it would be fantastic to see him have a NLDS against the Dodgers like Murph did in 2015!

  8. I’d like to say you are all right, but since you can’t all be right, you’ll have to settle for you’re all bright.

  9. I am going to say the Mets in 5 - they one the wild card series 2-1, the division series 3-1 so why not the NLCS at 4-1. Unfortunately, in 2000, they one the division series 3-1, the NLCS 4-1 and then proceeded to lose the World Series 1-4. Hmm .. I'll stick with my 5 game prediction. I think the pitching staff will be the real MVP of this series, but since in a 5 game series, the starters will only throw one time, it will be difficult for a starting pitcher to win the MVP. So either a reliever (Diaz?) or a position player . . I'll take the Polar Bear just because nobody else did.
