Mike Puma NY Post: Mets win ninth straight, matching epic 1986 start. "Granderson went 3-for-5 with four RBIs in leading the Mets to their ninth straight victory, 7-1 over the Braves. The nine-game winning streak is the Mets’ longest since July 2008, when they still were playing home games at Shea Stadium. The Mets are 11-3 for the first time since 1986 — the year they last won the World Series — and are tied with the Tigers and Royals for the best record in the majors."

Danny Muno alert
ReplyDeleteDid somebody say MUNO?
ReplyDeleteOne of Danny Muno's 17 MLB games. He only saw MLB time with the Mets, yet his Baseball Registar page has him in a Mariners cap. SMH.
ReplyDeleteDanny boy ended up in the Seattle org in AAA in 2017-18. That was his career swan song.
ReplyDeleteI saw Kirk Nieuwenhuis turns 38 this summer. Time flies.
It is funny that Granderson was the ultimate example of ballpark contrasts between Yankee Stadium and City Field. 84 HRs and 225 RBIs in 2012-13, then a shortened injury year in 2014. As a Met in 2015 and 2016, in 309 games, just 56 HRs and 129 RBIs. Way down from the Yankee explosion. He lost HRs in Citi.
