Tom Brennan - Tom’s Tidbits

TOM'S TIDBITS

So…

The Mets snapped a 2 game losing streak with a 4-1 winning. Canning got out of sick bay and was outstanding. Lindor ripped 3 hits, and Soto and Baty combined for 2 hits…both by Baty, who trails Soto in batting average by less than 15 points.” “Something no one thought was possible” a week ago.

Vientos? First of hopefully many HRs.

Great pen work…again.

In the minors, McNeil (still in St Lucie) was 0-3, and the Lucites lost 4-1.

In Syracuse, a 2-0 shutout win. Hamel threw 3 scoreless. Why only 3, I do not know.

Binghamton  (6-2) won, with big games from JT Schwartz and Jett. Parada had a hit, raising his average to.148.

*** Jack Wenninger with another sterling outing.  3-0, 1.20 ERA.

Brooklyn seemed out of  it, with the opposing starter, throwing five no hit innings with nine strikeouts, but they rallied behind the sizzling duo of Chris Suero and Jacob Reimer, and incredible relief work by Joel Diaz and DylanRoss (5.2 hitless, 8 Ks) for a 7-3 win, secured by a 5 run, 9th inning, rally.

Mets? Kranick called back up (yay) and Jose Azocar for the injured Siri.

  2. I forgot to add LF Estarling Mercado in Brooklyn, whom I will admit I know little about, is 10 for 23 with 4 walks in the early campaign. GREAT start.

  3. Brooklyn looks like a powerhouse.

  4. Powerhouses end with promotions in the minors, Ray.

Suero also stole 2 bags last night. I don’t know how his catching skills are, as he plays a few positions, but he might be ready to pass Parada with the bat this summer. Time will tell.

    1. Catching may be one of the Mets' best stocked positions in the minors.
