NY Post: Mets start September with ugly blowout loss to Phillies. "The worst culprits of the evening came out of the bullpen in the sixth inning, especially Bobby Parnell. That’s when the Phillies sent 12 men to the plate, scored eight runs, six unearned, and gleefully accepted two throwing errors plus four walks in a 14-8 rout...Niese (8-10) was down 6-0 when he was lifted for a fifth-inning pinch hitter. Most of the damage inflicted on him came in the Phillies’ five-run third that featured a three-run homer by Darin Ruf (career-high six RBIs). Jeff Francoeur and Darnell Sweeney also had RBI hits in the third off Niese."
