Mike Puma NY Post: Surging Mets stave off Braves for sixth straight win. "Fresh off a 13-day break because of concerns about his innings load, Syndergaard allowed one run on two hits with one walk and eight strikeouts. The plan, according to Collins, is to keep Syndergaard at seven innings or fewer for the remainder of the regular season."

Nationals lose 2-0 to the Marlins giving the Mets a 9.5 game lead in the East.

  1. Thor will always remain one of my favorite Mets - when he threw behind Gordon becuz they plunked our guys. Legendary. He threw behind him and then walked towards the batter, and Gordon cowered behind the Ump like a little baby lol

  2. Lol. Thor was a bad ass. Too bad he didn't have a longer career.

  3. He was, but I was always concerned about how he’d age, given that he was one of the worst pitchers in baseball at holding guys on. A walk was a double.
