Nice update on Garcia. The drop in walks in VZ ball is nice, but his hits per inning were higher and he gave up 18 runs in 35 innings, so it was a bit muddled. I am a little surprised the Mets allowed him to have as many as 28 relief outings in this winter ball season. Probably strongly thinking they will need him in Queens in 2026, and to accelerate his readiness.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts on AA hitting as expressed in MM articles is, if you needed to somehow airlift the entire average team’s AA offensive squad into the majors they would hit .110 to .120 as a team against vastly superior pitching. So, Saul is not ready, just closer to being ready.
