The Mets designated Garcia for assignment on Monday to make room for Jordan Yamamoto.
Hard to pinpoint where the Mets are in negotiations with Jackie Bradley Jr., right now, but he has been seeking a significant contract, perhaps beyond four years.
— Mike Puma (@NYPost_Mets) February 4, 2021
It should be noted that Bradley is represented by Scott Boras. The last time the Mets tried to get a Boras CF this deep into the winter, they bid for Michael Bourn - who ultimately received 4 years with a vesting option from Cleveland.

The Mets have expressed interest in Marwin GonzΓ‘lez as they look to fill out their roster, per source.
— Anthony DiComo (@AnthonyDiComo) February 3, 2021
Versatile, has played seven positions in his career, including six the past two seasons. Coming off a down year offensively, but slashed .264/.322/.414 with 15 HR in 2019.
Rich Hill had an incredibly close relationship with former GM Jared Porter. Wonder if he laid groundwork there and #Mets look to close for one more SP option. Obvious health risk, but he is productive whenever he takes the hill https://t.co/7oFkatEwkd

One Mets prospect to keep eye on in 2021 is 20 yr old RHP Zach Hammer.
— Ernest Dove (@ernestdove) February 2, 2021
Along with having a fantastic name for a pitcher, he spent the lost season working on mechanics, increasing his FB velo and putting on weight.
Another pure natural athlete and big body coming into his own physically I'm told is/was IF prospect Jaylen Palmer who arrived at instructs in incredible shape. Another guy who for all we know blossoms completely in 2021 gets to Mets top 10 ranking area quickly. Is OF possible?

ReplyDeleteWe have 8 guys who, on average, rank as the 6th best at their position in 2021 - that is amazingly good.
Bradley wants HOW MANY YEARS? What the heck happened to 2 years.
Starting spring training in 2/12 weeks? The COVID numbers seem to be dropping pretty quickly in Long Island, although still high. We'll see where that is at in 2 1/2 weeks.
Biden Admin asked MLB to delay season 1 month - Union balked. We will see what happens.
ReplyDeleteRich Hill hit Nimmo three times in a game, hurting his hand, because he stands too close to the plate. He then laughed about in in the clubhouse while Nimmo lost his chance to be an all star. Of course, no retaliation by the whimsy Mets.I can’t stand the shithead. Plus, he and his wife got arrested trying to get into a Patriots game? LOL! What the fck is wrong with Sandy?

ReplyDeleteThis is correct.
Only you Gus have brought that up about Rich Hill - amazing as always. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteManny Rodriguez made changes at the plate and its showing. Hope he gets time at SS 2B 3B during upcoming minors season.
ReplyDeleteErnest - Manny has all the tools. He can go into the hole at SS and throw the runner out at first and he has great speed. He just needs to put it all together. Plus he is from Brooklyn! Gotta love that!
ReplyDeleteJohn, I just couldn’t let it go. He hit him three times, once the umpire wouldn’t allow as the Dodgers argued he didn’t try to get out of the way. The guy was in the all-star runoff voting and winning! But, the Dodgers did that to get their guy in. Bullshit and premeditated, the Mets should have retaliated. But, we know the Mets.
ReplyDeleteIn the clubhouse afterwards, Hill laughed about hurting Nimmo. I can’t get over that.
Mickey's Mets led the league in getting hit by pitches each year he was here. He never retaliated.
ReplyDeleteGus, that is why for the same reason I never saw Gibson the same after he beaned Tommie Agee on the first AB (first pitch?) of spring training. I always felt that was a "you're in my league now" message from Bob Gibson.
ReplyDeleteHill clearly has adopted the HBP as a weapon - he has hit 30 batters in 505 innings since 2015, a very high rate. But he laughed about it?
And the Mets did not retaliate? Sad, but that seems par for the course with them.
