PG -

Carson Crawford is a 2021 SS/RHP/3B with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Rohnert Park, CA who attends Cardinal Newman. Solid athletic build with good present strength and room for more. Right handed hitter, hits from a wide base with a leg lift trigger, has quick hands from an abrupt launch, has strength off the barrel and can drive the ball to opposite field gap, projects well as a hitter as he learns how to use his strength and quickness. 7.26 runner, has good arm strength in the infield, gets on top of his throws well and creates on line carry, solid one spot athleticism, projects at third base in the future

Scrimmage vs Clayton Valley - Cal commit; One inning outing on the mound, saw up to 87 in this outing which is highest we've seen to this point, arm was working quick free and easy with considerable fastball life, has eliminated the curveball and added a slider, small break with the slider as it looks to be something that will need some more development as the break was minimal and mostly lateral with cutter type break, change-up was quite good and it's the better of the two secondary pitches and will be an above average offering at the collegiate level. This was a good jump in velocity from what we saw at the Area Code Games tryout.

Mack's spin -

If you project Crawford right now, you would have him being drafted in a late round on day two.

Not a good negotiating place for a high schooler.

I would go to college and work on perfecting his game.

Carson Crawford, INF - Carson Crawford is another guy who really helped his stock during the event. The infielder out of California may end up moving from short to third long term, but he’s got a better feel for hitting and more juice in the bat than what I had believed going in. Crawford has the ability to be an intriguing third base prospect with the glove and bat, and is someone to watch going forward.
