Brooklyn: Darryl Strawberry Night

THURSDAY NIGHT:

On Thursday, July 23rd, the first-place Cyclones take on the rival Staten Island Yankees at KeySpan park in a 7pm Battle of the Boroughs.That night, the first 2,500 fans in attendance will also receive an aluminum Retro Lunch Box, presented by Verizon. The lunch box features a Coney Island skyline image, a pitcher in his wind-up, Sandy, Pee Wee, and more! STRAWBOBBLE: On Monday, August 3rd, the Brooklyn Cyclones will host Darryl Strawberry Night, and the first 2,500 fans in attendance will receive a limited-edition “Strawbobble” – a bobblehead depicting the New York baseball legend. Strawberry will also throw out the game’s ceremonial first pitch. Strawberry hit 335 home runs in 17 seasons in the majors, and is still the Mets' all-time home run leader, with 252 of his long balls belted while he was with the Amazin's. Strawberry has worn the Brooklyn uniform during his coaching visits, and even hit a home run to deep right field when he stepped to the plate for a few swings during batting practice.

Strawberry will also be on hand for the Cyclones’ third annual Golf Outing, on Monday, August 10th. He will play in the tournament that day, and will be a keynote speaker at the outing’s dinner that evening.
