I can’t believe it. Lucy actually got some baseball in.
Nick Waechter got the nod. He gave up two runs in the second and three more in the fourth inning, all earned. Emary Frederick replaced him after 3.2 innings pitched.
Lucy scored four runs in the fourth inning on what started as a hit by the pitch into Reese Havens, who had to leave the game due to an injured hand and wrist. That pissed off Zach Lutz, who went yard, followed by a walk to Carlos Guzman and another homer by Frankie Pena.
And then… ha ha… the game was delayed for rain after five innings.
After what seemed like 100 rain-outs this week and another Reese Havens injury, they packed it in after five innings, postponed game two, and headed to Duffys.
