11-5: The Mets have told J.J. Putz that they do not intend to pick up his 2010 option and will buy him out instead for $1 million. Putz's option would have been for $9.1 million. Savings: $8,100,000.00

Great post Mack. It shows that if the Mets don't get a big bat that they are being cheap. That should be enough money to fill some holes, even if they only spend 30MM of it.
ReplyDeleteHelpful list, but shouldn't it also include adjustments owing to backloaded contracts where the player will earn more each season? David Wright will earn $10mm in 2010, up from $7.5mm in 2009. Jose Reyes will earn $9mm in 2010, up from $5.75mm last season. How many others are there?
