Minor Rags: Dickey Spot On, Holt Shoots Blanks, Schwinden Dominate... and Honeck Hurt

Bisons:

R.A. Dickey did the job for the Buffalo Bisons again Tuesday. No surprise. The only shocker was that he didn't get the win. Closer Elmer Dessens gave up two ninth-inning runs to blow a save and what would have been Dickey's fourth win of the season. Undaunted, the Bisons quickly came back with two runs of their own in the bottom of the inning to stun the Louisville Bats, 5-4, before several hundred fans at Coca-Cola Field. Buffalo won the game on reliever Jon Adkins' bases-loaded wild pitch that scored Fernando Martinez. The Bisons tied it a couple pitches earlier as Jesus Feliciano got credit for an RBI single on a scorcher to the box that bounced in and out of Adkins' glove. - link

B-Mets:

With the New Hampshire Fisher Cats' eight-game winning streak halted earlier Wednesday, the Binghamton Mets finally had a chance to make up some ground on the Eastern Division's first place team. But that opportunity went by the wayside when the Erie SeaWolves defeated the B-Mets 4-2 at rainy Jerry Uht Stadium. The loss ended the B-Mets' six-game winning streak and left them two games back of the Fisher Cats heading into Thursday morning's series-ending game at Erie. The SeaWolves jumped out to a 3-0 lead on B-Mets starter Brad Holt, appearing for just the third time since being activated off the disabled list. He has yet to make it beyond the second inning of a game. - link

Lucy:

The St. Lucie Mets salvaged a game in the series with a 8-2 win over the Charlotte Stone Crabs on Wednesday at Digital Domain Park. After dropping the first two games of the series, the Mets’ bats came to life. The Mets put three on the board in the first inning. Sean Ratliff had a two-run single and Joshua Satin got an RBI single. St. Lucie added a run in the fourth on an RBI single by Reese Havens. They scored four runs in the seventh on a three-run triple by Stefan Welch and Welch scored on a wild pitch. Chris Schwinden (2-0) gave up four hits and struck out five. - link

Gnats:

Jefry Marte scored on a ground out in the top of the 12th inning as the Savannah Sand Gnats defeated the Delmarva Shorebirds, 1-0, Wednesday night at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. Sam Honeck had opened the inning with a double and tried to score on an earlier ground out, but was out at home plate. Honeck was injured in the collision with the catcher and taken away in an ambulance. - link
