Jon Berti:
7-18 from: - link - On Bowling Green infielder Jon Berti (.215/.271/.266, 6 RBI in 79 AB): "He ran a 6.56. He stole 30 bags at BGSU. Undersized middle infielder/second baseman, but he plays with a fast motor—I'd take 10 of those kids. He's a gamer. He can play second base, he's got good range, his arm's plenty fine. He runs everything out hard, there's no letup in his step. He just needs to refine his swing a little bit. Right now he's learning with the wood, chases pitches above his hands. He's a good low-ball hitter, but he can get beat above his hands with velocity."
7-26 from: - link - Here are some names of draft eligibles for 2011 who have not been mentioned much and are definitely on the radar for 2011 MLB scouting depts. – Jon Berti, Bowling Green, 5'10 175, R/R, solid hitter with tools, runs better than ave on the way, arm is good enough to play OF or SS if he had to.
Ricky Santiago:
7-13-10: - MaxPreps Junior All-American Baseball Team – SS Ricky Santiago, Flanagan (Pembroke Pines, Fla.), Infield - Santiago helped lead Flanagan to the 6A state title in Florida as he batted .420 with 23 RBI, 5 doubles and 4 home runs. He was also named to the All-Broward County team by the Miami Herald.
Jason Wheeler:
7-21 from: - link - LHP, Jason Wheeler, Loyola-Marymount, tall (6'6 listed, and 250'ish) lefty with some arm side run, plus movement, control is ave, touched adv ave velocity on occ 89-94 range, effectiveness is his control and changing arm slots, needs to stay on top and drive more to the plate to get maximum lower body into his delivery to take stress off the elbow/shoulder. Could move up next spring into top 3 rounds, right now an 8-12 round type on paper with solid upside. Pitched vs Rochester 1-0 game. Was not in the All-Star tilt.
Jordan Jankowski:
7-22-10 from: - link - RHP, Jordan Jankowski, Miami-OH, 6'0 200, pitching with Grisz at Thomasville this summer, another name I was surprised was not drafted this year as a D/E soph, he will touch 92, but mostly pitches at 88-89, his niche would be to be a middle guy or if he can gain a bit more stamina and use his lower half better in his extension-follow thru could add a couple mph to velo. Breaking ball rolls at times and other times sharp, again depends on release points. On a club that will get a lot of exposure this fall and next spring in MAC conference. He's not a secret would be a low "A" draft at the least. Command is ok, control again is ok, workable.
Brad Miller:
7-23-10 from: - link - USA CNT Roster Breakdown, Spring Stat Links and Trials Notes: - Brad Miller SS/3B/2B So. Clemson Univ. - Trials Notes: Miller has a long frame with a lean build and thin hips. His physical projection is up for debate, but he'll certainly need to add a little strength to thrive at the next level. He can play across the infield right now, but his hands and range project best to the hot corner, with a chance to stick at second with a little better footwork and reps at the position. He's also athletic enough to shift to an outfield corner, if needed, but shows enough aptitude in the infield that it should not be required any time soon. At the plate, Miller gets good leverage in his swing, loading high with his hands and producing some backspin and carry when he gets hard contact. His power is to the gaps right now, but with a little more strength he could see some homerun pop with wood as he improves his bat speed (which is light right now against good velocity). The Clemson shortstop is one of three player returning from last year's USA CNT and will be draft eligible in 2011.
