Gnats Playoff Tickets Go On Sale

from press release:

Savannah Sand Gnats 2010 playoff tickets will go on sale, Monday, July 26 at 10 am. The 2010 playoffs will be presented by Tate Law Group.

The First Half Champion Gnats will play their first home playoff game at Historic Grayson Stadium on Friday, September 10, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 pm. Tate Law Group will provide special limited edition Sand Gnats vuvuzelas for the first 1,000 fans on September 10. Vuvuzela horns achieved worldwide attention in 2010 at the FIFA World Cup in South Africa for their distinctive, loud sound.

“As an organization, we are thrilled to head back to the playoffs for the first time in 14 years with the tremendous support of the Tate Law Group,” said Gnats team president John Katz. “I want to thank Mark Tate and his firm for sponsoring the 2010 Playoffs and vuvuzela giveaway which will help the Gnats create a special and unique atmosphere for our 2010 run at South Atlantic League history.”

The Gnats may host up to four playoff games in 2010. The Southern Division Championship Series will begin on Wednesday, September 8 at the home stadium of the Second Half Champion. The series will return to Savannah on Friday, September 10 at 7:05 pm for game two, and, if necessary, game three on Saturday, September 11 at 6:05 pm. Should the Sand Gnats prevail in the opening series, they will host games one and two of the South Atlantic League Championship series on September 13 and 14. Tickets for all Playoff games will go on sale at 10:00 am today at www.sandgnats.com, and by phone at (912) 351-9150. Fans holding tickets for any un-played playoff games will be issued a credit towards 2011 ticket plans including 2011 Season Seat or Flexplan packages.

Ticket prices will remain unchanged for the Playoffs, with Box Seats priced at $10, Reserved Seats at $8 and General Admission at $7 for adults and $5 for youth, seniors and Military personnel and their families (with ID). Sand Gnats Season Seat holders will be given a right of first refusal for their seats for the playoffs.

Savannah’s professional baseball team has reached the playoffs for the first time since 1996 when the then-Savannah Cardinals won the South Atlantic League Championship after entering the post-season as a Wild Card entry. The Gnats finished the first half atop the Southern Division of the South Atlantic League with a record of 42-28. Savannah won its first SAL title in 1906.
