2011 Draft - Stock Up/Stock Down

I've received aorund four more mock drafts since I published the last compilation (remember... I post them every month around the 15th day) and there are some adiditional trneds developing, even though all anyone is doing is playing winter ball against marginal competition.

Still mock bloggers react to these kind of things and players go up and down the charts.

The bloggers also react to what others say, the cuteness of the name of the players, and the humidity outside, but that's another post.

Here's some recent trends to look for the next time I post:

Stock Up

RHP - Tyler Beede  -  Beede started out the day after the 2010 draft around the 25th top RHP. Now, he's a consistent name in the firts round of everybody's draft and I have him as the 11th RHP and the 27th pick overall.

RHP - Tony Zych - Like Beede, started out down (36th overall RHP) and now is ranked as the 21st right hander.

RHP - Austin Wood - Wood wasn't even picked on the first seven mocks this year, but he now ranks the 10th overall right hander.

C - Peter O'Brien - the first 15 mocks this year had only one catcher, Blake Swihart, being picked consistently in the first round. O'Brien has made a recent charge to become the 2nd overall catcher pick and a late 1st/supplimental 1st round pick.

2B/OF - Kolton Wong - mockers can't agree on which position this kid plays but he now is consistently being picked in the top 50 picks of each draft.

Stock Down:

RHP Austin Dicharry - started off the 17th top RHP and has now fell completely off the mocks after going down with shoulder tendinitis.

2B Zach MacPhee - his name did come up on the last two mocks, but they were the only two he was named in for around three months.

OF Drew Martinez - can't understand why only one mock draft has picked this stud, and they named him 233rd. He was a big cheese in last year's draft and was one of the top player s this year in the Cape Cod league.
