Pawtucket 7, Buffalo 6

Josh Satin's first Triple-A home run pushed the Bisons ahead in the eighth, but Lars Anderson responded with his own two-run homer, taking a 7-6 Pawtucket win Sunday afternoon at Coca-Cola Field.
Satin had a chance for a walk-off, but center-fielder Che-Hsuan Lin made a running catch to end the game and strand two runners.

"I hit it well, barely off the end of the bat," Satin said. "It's just a learning process for me. I wish I could've come through for the team, but it's definitely a step in the right direction.

In a save opportunity Dale Thayer pitched allowed a run on a Daniel Nava sacrifice fly and walked Ryan Lavarnway before the game-winning blast.
Satin's homer against Hideki Okajima scored Jason Botts, who had walked, in a 4-4 tie.

"At that point I just wanted to get a hit to get the rally started," Satin said. "To hit a home run was definitely something that I wasn't thinking about but it was great for me personally and, at the time, for the team."

Tony Thomas blasted his third homer in Buffalo and eighth of the season, giving the PawSox a 2-0 second-inning lead.

After a single and a stolen base, Fernando Perez raced home and Luis Figueroa moved from first to third on a fielding error by first baseman Anderson off the bat of Jesus Feliciano.

On the next pitch, Valentino Pascucci brought both runners home on a broken-bat double to right.

In the fourth, Luis Exposito tied the game at three with a leadoff homer off the left-field foul pole.

Starter Dylan Owen allowed four earned runs on five hits over 6 2/3 innings, taking a no decision.

"Owen did a great job," manager Tim Teufel said. "It was just the bullpen at the end. (It) let things get away from us a little bit."

With the game still tied at four, Thomas nearly took back the lead in the top of the eighth, but his long center-field hit with Nate Spears on first bounced out of play, holding the runner at third for a ground rule double.

Game Notes: Thomas hit grand slams during the teams' first series of the season on April 9th and 11th... Pascucci leads the Herd with 68 RBIs... Satin hit 11 home runs in Double-A Binghamton, where he started the season... Pawtucket leads the season series, 9-2, winning the last few seven.
