Bisons rally yet again in 6-5 win

The comeback Bisons were at it again on Thursday night Coca-Cola Field, erasing a two-run deficit in a 6-5 victory over the Chiefs. Buffalo scored two runs in the sixth inning and two more in the eighth for their sixth win in the last seven games.

The Bisons are now 16-11 on the season. Eleven of those wins have come in games they have trailed.

On Thursday, Syracuse took a 4-2 lead into the bottom of the sixth before the Herd cranked up their rally mojo.

In the eighth, Bisons manager Wally Backman went to the bench three times to scratch across a pair of runs. A single from Brad Emaus and a double from Johnson had the Herd set up at second and third with no outs. Pinch hitter #1 Valentino Pascucci struck out and pinch hitter #2 Bobby Scales was intentionally walked. Pinch hitter #3 Lucas May then beat out a potential inning-ending doubleplay to allow the game-winning run to score.

Vinny Rottino added the much-needed insurance with an RBI-single to centerfield. It proved to be the game-winning run as Syracuse scored a fifth tally in the ninth inning.

Rottino had two hits in the game, extending his hit streak to a Bisons' season-high 14 games.

The win for Buffalo went to reliever Jack Egbert, who got the Herd out of a jam in the seventh inning. Fernando Cabrera pitched the ninth for his sixth save of the season and second in as many days.
Jeurys Familia started for the Bisons and allowed three runs (two earned) in five innings of a no-decision. He also had an RBI-double in the second inning.

BISONS NOTES: In two games since being activated off the disabled list, Rob Johnson is 5-7 with double, a triple, a home run and two RBI...Mets' RHP D.J.
