Gerald Laird and the Atlanta Braves have agreed upon a 2 year contract for him to be the back-up catcher for starter Brian McCann. The deal was officially announced on the team's Twitter account.

(Well there goes one catcher off the market. I don't believe he was a prime target for the Mets but depending on the dollars he signed for it could set the market for other catchers looking for a platoon situation or a chance to re-build their careers. Yea I'm looking your way Geovany Soto.)
I just feel that Josh Thole is going to get another shot here in 2013, especially if RA Dickey stays with the team (which I believe more every day)
