Mack - Did you catch Montero yesterday on MLB network?
ReplyDeleteyeah, the Met world is pretty excited about him...
ReplyDeleteJustin, there seems to be a good chance now that Montero will be assigned to Las Vegas.
ReplyDeleteI think we are watching a pitcher be projected to Queens by the end of 2013.
Sandy said on WFAN this afternoon with Francessa that he's ticketed to Bingo. I'd be REALLY surprised if he ends up in Vegas. Though it's exciting to thing that Vegas is even being considered.
ReplyDeleteI'd bet on them taking the same approach with him as Wheeler and Harvey. Let him split this year between AA and AAA. Next year start in AAA and let his arb clock settle out before a mid season call up.
He painted some corners yesterday with some movement on the fastball that had me a bit giddy.
Its intriguing the possibilities that the Mets now have with both Wheeler and Montero so close. On top of that Mejia is a wildcard in that who knows where he ultimately ends up. This gives Alderson some options in pulling another Wheeler-like deal at the trade deadline and getting that outfield prospect we so much covey but lack. They will have options of trading Santana, Gee or Marcum.
