                Observation – The only chance you have here is a possible end of the season replacement at DH of Morales. There are no outfielders to go after, but there are three fine pitching prospects to negotiate about (I’ll take Paxton).

    Paxton would be the most likely to get, I don't seem them moving Wagner or Hultzen for two months of Buck.

    I know a lot of fans are high on Daniel Murphy right now, but I would trade Buck for Nick Franklin +, freeing up Murphy for a possible deal. The way he's going right now, Franklin should/could be ready to step in at 2B this summer.

    Leave Murphy alone! Did Murphy kill one of your relatives or something? You're always trying to get rid of the poor guy.

    Alright Michael, that was in jest. Franklin is a very good prospect who is on the cusp of the majors. If I could get him as a return on Buck and he was a better prospect then what we could get at a position of need (i.e. the outfield) then I'd trade for him in a second.

    I know the book on his defense is that he's a boarder line SS at the MLB level but I would be curious to if he could hack it at SS and we could trade Tejada.

    Murph is just such a good pure hitter and is coming into his own. He's one of those guys that won't hit FA till he turns 30 so you can probably lock him up to a very team friendly deal in the mean time (at the end of the season assuming he has a solid season the whole way through.)

    Franklin could either take over short or he could be a quality bit of trade bate for the off season.

    I'm not saying Murphy is a player you can't trade but I don't see him being nearly as valuable to another team. I can't bring myself to trade him if I'm not getting back equal value. Most of the win now teams that could use a 3B/2B player don't have anyone worth trading for. I do like Franklin as a prospect.

    I wouldn't get grid of Murphy just to get rid of him. I know you won't believe me, but I do like some of what he brings to the table. I've just always seen him as flawed or incomplete as a player. Now that he's hitting well I really think the Mets can sell high on him.

    I'm glad the Mets turned down the Luke Gregorson deal, I think Murph has more value than that. As far as win now teams, with the new wild cards there may be more suitors.
