Draft 13 –Wesely, McMahon, Martinez, Gray, Stringer, Cederoth

Dan Kirby

Tracy HS (CA) LHP Jonah Wesely who had 11 K/0 BB over 5 shutout IP on Wednesday. Now has 62 K/12 BB over 37 IP.

        Mater Dei HS 3B- 6'-3" Ryan McMahon over 16 G: 24-for-52 (.462) w/ 7 2B, 3B, 3 HR, 23 RBI, .462 OBP/.808 SLG.

        C- Jeremy Martinez over last 11 G: 14-for-32 (.438) w/ 11 RBI, 5 BB, 4 HBP, .561 OBP

Jonathan Gray, RHP, Oklahoma. A late addition to the mix, Gray officially welcomed himself to the party by touching 100 mph and abusing a very good UCLA team on March 9. Over seven shutout innings, he allowed five hits while striking out eight to one walk in a 4-0 win. On the season, he is now 3-1 with 27 K/8 BB over 26 innings, allowing six runs on 17 hits. Along with his plus fastball, he also features a plus slider and potential plus change-up. At 6’-4” and 240 pounds, the right-hander has the size to be a workhorse.

As a sophomore, he went 8-4 with a 3.16 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 104 K/42 BB over 102.2 innings. He has cut his BB/9 from 3.7 last year to 2.7 this year while gaining velocity and movement.

Christian Stringer, 2B, Rice - Stringer, a 5’-11” left-hander, was named First Team All-Conference USA after hitting a team-high .343 over 59 games with 12 doubles, three home runs, 36 RBI and six stolen bases. He drew 38 walks to just 28 strikeouts for a .448 OBP. Showing a knack to be a rally starter, he had a .488 OBP (39-for-80) when leading off an inning. He reached base in 46 consecutive games and enjoyed a 17-game hitting streak.

Looks like @SDSUBaseball RHP Michael Cederoth is on a roll. After his outing vs. Nevada last week, 11 K's, 2 R in a CG vs. Air Force.

Just another day at the office for #CalStateFullerton RHP Thomas Eshelman, who allowed a run in 8 IP. However, he did have ONE walk. Damn!
