Domingo Tapia (0-1) was tagged with the loss after lasting only 0.2 innings. Tapia gave up 3 earned runs on 4 walks and one hit, with 2 wild pitches thrown in for good measure.
The bull pen didn’t fare much better, with Marcos Camerena getting tagged with 3 more earned runs on 5 hits and 2 walks in 3.0 innings, although he did strike out 4. Estarlin Morel gave Rome their last run on 4 hits and 2 walks in 2.0 innings. Jim Fuller was the only solid Mets reliever in this losing effort, going 2.1 innings with no hits and 1 walk.
The Mets offense consisted primarily of leadoff hitter T.J. Rivera’s 3-5 night, with 3 RBI, and #9 hitter Gilbert Gomez, going 2-3 with the Mets other RBI.
New Hampshire comes from behind to upend Binghamton 3-1
The Fisher Cats spoiled a solid effort by Logan Verritt, who went 7 innings, giving up 1 run on 7 hits and a walk.
John Church (0-2) was tagged with the loss, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits, one of which was a HR, in 0.2 innings. Chase Hutchingson finished the final 1.1 innings with no hits and one walk.
Josh Rodriguez was the Mets offense, going 2-4 with a double.
Cory Vaughn, hitting an anemic .136 in this young season, had the Mets only other hit.
Former Met, Adam Loewen homered for the Fisher Cats in the 7th inning to tie the score at 1. He went 2-3 for the day.
At this writing Las Vegas is pummeling Fresno 12-0 after 3 innings.
