Mets Minor League Report – April 21

Lakewood (5-13) tops Savannah (9-8) 5-3
Logan Taylor (L, 0-1) spotted the Blue Claws to a 4-0 lead, (only 3 of the runs were earned) and took the loss, as the Sand Gnats never caught up. In 4 innings he allowed 6 hits and a walk, striking out 4.
Matt Koch pitched the final 4 innings, giving up 1 ER on 2 hits, with 1 K.
Jayce Boyd (2-5, with a double) and Kevin Plawecki (2-4) provided the offense. Boyd scored once, with Plawecki driving him in. Plawecki also scored once, on a wild pitch.

St. Lucie (11-6) shaves Charlotte (7-9) 1-0
Another fine pitching performance by Hansel Robles (W, 2-1) going 6.0 innings, allowing only 3 hits and 2 BBs, striking out 6.
Jim Fuller (H, 3) pitched a scoreless inning with 2 hits and 1 K, while Chase Bradford notched his 2nd save with 2 scoreless innings, allowing 1 hits and striking out 2.
St. Lucie managed 6 hits, 4 for extra bases, but their lone run came when Robbie Shields walked, stole second, and scored on a fielder’s choice and a botched throw. The run was earned, but there was no RBI.

Binghamton (10-7) drubs New Hampshire (8-10) 15-2
It was a field day for Bingo hitters, with every starter getting a hit, except for Darrell Ceciliani, although DC did score twice and notched his 4th SB of the season.
Alonzo Harris:  4-5 with 1 BB, 2 RBI, 2 R and 3 SB.
Cory Vaughn: 3-6, 2 RBI, 2 R
Josh Rodriguez: 1-2, 2B, 4 BB, 3 R
 Allan Dykstra: 1-3, 2B, 3 BB, 3 RBI, 2 R.
Richard Lucas: 1-6, 2 RBI, 2 R.
Blake Forsythe: 1-6, 2B, BB, RBI, R.
Danny Muno: 1-3, BB, 3 RBI.
Wilfredo Tovar: 1-3, R.
Logan Verritt: (W, 3-0) 5.0 IP, 1 ER, 5 H, 3 BB, K.
Adam Kolarek pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief, allowing only 1 hit.

Colorado Springs (10-7) edges Las Vegas (10-8) 8-7.
After coming from behind twice to take 1 run leads, the 51’s gave it up in the bottom of the 9th. Greg Peavey, (L, 1-1) starting his third inning of relief, gave up consecutive singles to open the 9th, and Sean Henn (BS) allowed both inherited runners to score when he walked the first batter he faced and then allowed a 2 run single.
Starter Collin McHugh  went 5.1 innings allowing 4 ER on 13 H, with 3 K.
Justin Hampson (BS, 2) followed McHugh, giving up 2 ER on 3 H and a BB, without recording an out.

Juan Lagares: 1-5, HR, RBI, R.
Zach Lutz: 2-4, BB, RBI, R.
Andrew Brown: 2-5, RBI, R.
