Mets Minor League Report – May 5

Savannah (18-9) @ Hickory (16-12) postponed (rain).

St Lucie (18-11) shuts out Daytona (16-13) 1-0
Starter Domingo Tapia gets a no-decision for his 2 hit, 3 walk, 4 strikeout 6.0 innings of work.
Making his 3rd rehab appearance, Frank Francisco pitched a perfect 7th inning, with 2 strikeouts. Thus far, Francisco has been perfect in all 3 appearances, allowing neither a hit nor a walk.
Jim Fuller gave up 1 hit in pitching a scoreless 8th. He was followed by Chase Bradford, (W, 2-0) who got the win after giving up only a walk in the 9th.
Pinch hitter Matt Reynolds singled in the winning run with 2 out in the bottom of the 9th, after Luis Liria, the Daytona reliever who had been brought in to pitch the 9th, had loaded the bases with 3 straight walks.
Travis Taijeron: was 2 for 2, both doubles, with a walk.

Binghamton (16-14) bests Harrisburg (14-16) 6-1
Starter Mark Cohoon (W, 3-0) got the win with 5.0 shutout innings. He allowed 4 hits and 3 walks, with 8 strikeouts.
Jack Leathersich pitched a hitless 9th, allowing only a walk, and striking out the side. (Big surprise!) With 16.2 K/9 IP, Leather Jack has the highest K/9 in the Eastern League.
Leadoff hitter Alonzo Harris was 3-4 with a HR, SB, RBI and 2 R.
Danny Muno: 2-3, BB, RBI, 2 R.
Josh Rodriguez: 2-4, HR, 2 RBI, R.
Richard Lucas: 2-4, HR, RBI, R.

Las Vegas (14-15) over Sacramento (17-14) 6-2.
Zack Wheeler (W, 2-1) has seemingly acclimated himself to Las Vegas and gotten his act together. 6.0 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 4 K.
Gonzalez Germen pitched a perfect bottom of the 9th in this non-save situation.
Collin Cowgill, leading off for the 51’s, was 2-4 with a HR, 3 RBI and 2 R.
Omar Quintanilla: 2-4, 2B, 2 RBI, R.
