The development of the top power bat in our system has been painfully SLOW. It's made worse by the fact that Aderlin has been on the disabled list since June 25th with an undisclosed injury. The story is still the same with Rodriguez though prospect wise. He continues to show unbelievable power but has a weak hit tool and strikes out far too much with it. He also is awful defensively at 3B which has pushed him to 1B though he is still not getting most of his playing time there. If he can stick it at 1B then maybe there's a chance of him becoming a MLB starter but IMO his ceiling is a DH for an American League team and realistically he may end up being AAA fodder. This off-season will be interesting as he is Rule 5 eligible for the second time in his career.
