Mets Minor League Report – August 1
MML Players of the Day – Aug. 1: St. Lucie OF/3B Dustin Lawley & RP Cody Satterwhite
Nashville (42-71) blanks Las Vegas (60-51) 4-0.
Starter Giancarlo Alverado: 6.1 IP, R, 6 H, 3 BB, 3 K.
Jack Leathersich allowed 3 unearned runs on 2 H, 1 BB, while striking out 2 in 0.2 innings.
0 R + 4 H + 0 XBH = no offense
Altoona (51-57) outlasts Binghamton (67-42) 2-1 in 13 innings.
Erik Goeddel was outstanding: 6.1 IP, R, 0 ER, 3 H, BB, 5 K.
Two Mets relievers, Chasen Bradford and Chase Hutchingson, then pitched 3.2 scoreless innings to keep the game tied through the 10th inning.
Adam Kolarek (L, 2-3) was asked to pitch 3 innings in relief, but couldn't seal the deal. After pitching 2 scoreless, he allowed the winning run with 1 out in the 13th, to take his 2nd loss in as many nights.
Just not enough offense to win this one.
Darrell Ceciliani: 1-5, R.
Wilfredo Tovar: 2-5, RBI.
St Lucie (58-46) topples Tampa (46-59) 10-4.
Jon Niese, in his first rehab start with St Lucie, pitched 4.0 very strong innings, not long enough to earn a win: 0 R, 2 H, BB, 4 K. (His previous rehab start with the GCL Mets didn’t go as well. Good to see Niese rebound.)
Hansel Robles (W, 5-2) followed Niese and got the benefit of the 8 runs the Lucies scored in the first 2 innings to get the win: 4.0 IP, 4 R, 2 ER, 6 H, (HR) 0 BB, 4 K.
Cody Satterwhite pitched a lights out 9th inning, not allowing a base runner and striking out all 3 batters he faced.
Dustin Lawley: 2-5, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 2 R.
T.J. Rivera: 4-4, BB, 2 R.
Lucas Duda: 2-5, 2B, RBI, R. But struck out 3 times.
Savannah (62-43) edges Greenville (42-65) 4-3.
Marcos Camarena went 5.2 innings: 2 R, 1 ER, 7 H, (HR) 3 BB, 4 K.
Paul Sewald (W, 2-2) pitched a perfect bottom of the 8th inning with 2 K, earning the W when the Gnats scored a tie breaking run in the top of the 9th.
Then Beck Wheeler (S, 12) gave up 1 BB and had 2 K in the bottom of the 9th inning, for his 12th save.
Maikis De La Cruz: 2-4, HR, BB, 2 RBI, R.
Brooklyn (21-22) whacks Williamsport (22-21) 9-4.
Starter Robert Gsellman (W, 2-2) gave the Cyclones 6.0 innings: 4 R, 3 ER, 7 H, (HR) BB, 4 K.
Ricky Knapp (S, 2) then went the last 3.0 hitless innings for his 2nd save: 3 BB, 5 K.
James Roche: 1-2, HR, BB, 2 RBI, 3 R.
Jonathan Clark: 2-5, 3B, 3 RBI, R.
Colton Plaia: 2-4, 2B, RBI, 2 R.
Kingsport (25-15) jolts Johnson City (17-22) 6-3.
Chris Flexen (W, 5-1) in another quality start, goes 7.0 innings: 2 R, 8 H, BB, K.
Ricardo Jacquez (S, 5) was called on to get the final out of the game, which he did via the strikeout, after Tyler Bashlor gave up a run on a 2 base throwing error, a ground out and a sac fly, in the top of the 9th.
Zach Mathieu: 2-2, 2 BB, RBI.
Amed Rosario: 1-4, 2 R.
GCL Mets (11-25) swat GCL Marlins (14-22) 4-1.
Starter Gaby Almonte (W, 2-1) goes 5.0 scoreless: 4 H, 2 BB, 4 K.
Reliever Brandon Welch went 3.0 innings: 0 R, H, 0 BB, K.
Wuilmer Beccera: 1-3, 2B, 2 RBI.
DSL Mets2 (32-20) rock DSL Rockies (26-26) 9-5.

Reliever Aneury Olivo pitched the final 2.0 innings: 0 R, 3 H, 0 BB, K.
