In the nightcap of a double dip, Daisuke Matsuzaka pitched outstanding and the Mets held off the Marlins 3-1 to capture a split. The Mets took the lead in the first inning 1-0 on an rbi single by Wilmer Flores. In the 3rd, The Mets got back to back jacks by Daniel Murphy (his 11th) and Lucas Duda (his 14th) and it was 3-0 Mets. It was the 3rd time this season the Mets have homered back to back. Dice K who pitched well in his last start in Cleveland, was even better in this game. Matsuzaka went 7 innings he allowed just 2 hits, 1 run (earned) he walked one and struck out 3. Dice K only yielded a solo homer in the 4th to Justin Ruggiano (#17), and a single to Aideny Hechavarria in the 7th and that was it. Dice K gets the win improving to 1-3 on year, it was his first win since August of 2012. Jacob Turner pitched for the Marlins he takes the loss he’s now 3-7. The Mets win their 30th win at home (30-43), overall they stand at 66-82. Sunday Afternoon the Mets look to take the series.
