Well this one comes out of nowhere. This is quite a trade for both clubs. Fielder should hit 40+ HRs in Texas. Kinsler and Cabrera, while defensively challenged, will be a big hitting duo on the right side of the infield. It's the kind of deal you expect to go down in a couple of weeks at the Winter Meetings. MLB could be heading toward an active winter of transactions this hot stove season. If so, let's hope the Mets join in on all the action.
Profar was never a realistic target for the Mets, but this effectively takes Elvis Andrus out of the equation. There are still several realistic trade targets for the Mets, and I think the Mets will have to acquire their shortstop via trade unless Jhonny Peralta and his agents come back down to earth as the off season threatens to pass them by.
Well......there goes a few Mets fans dreams of acquiring Profar from the Rangers.
