Draft 14 – Touki Toussainnt, Joe Gatto, Alex Lange, Carlos Rodon, Alex Verdugo

11-27-13 – Big League Futures Top 25 Poll –  13 Touki Toussaint    RHP Coral Springs Christian (FL) http://bigleaguefutures.net/1/2013/11/26/mlb-draft-top-25-prospects-poll/

12-10-13 – TTF – Top 50 HS Players - 41. Joe Gatto, RHP, St. Augustine Prep (NJ) - The 6’-5”, 210-pound right-hander turned heads by gaining nearly 10 mph on his fastball over the last year and now can sling it 95 mph with explosive, late life. He showed great command of his secondary stuff at the Perfect Game Nationals, and he still has a ton of projection due to his size and arm action. Scouts reportedly were raving about his efficiency and feel for his stuff. He hit 93 mph at the PG Classic. Committed to North Carolina. http://throughthefencebaseball.com/2014-mlb-draft-top-50/40532#zz88YJZTOG8iEa1Z.99

11-21-13 – BA Top 100 High School Players - 59 Alex Lange RHP R/R 6-3 221 Lee’s Summit West (Mo.) Louisiana State http://www.baseballamerica.com/college/2014-high-school-top-100-with-commitments/

B/R – 11-21-13 - 1. Houston Astros: Carlos Rodon, LHP, North Carolina State - Projected as the No. 1 pick in the 2014 draft even before the start of the 2013 season, it’s difficult to envision a scenario in which Carlos Rodon doesn’t fulfill that prophecy. At 6’3", 234 pounds, the left-hander has a smooth and repeatable delivery in which he utilizes his strong core and lower half, but he also lacks physical projection and has a concerning medical history. Regardless, Rodon’s stuff is as good as his video-game numbers from the last two seasons suggest. Rodon features an explosive fastball in the low- to mid-90s and can reach back for more ticks when needed, and he backs it up with a plus-plus slider that ranges from 85-90 mph and currently grades as the best secondary offering among his peers. The southpaw also has a changeup that flashes above-average potential at his disposal, though it’s considerably less advanced than his other two pitches. Rodon has the ceiling of a No. 1 starter in the major leagues and, if all goes as planned regarding his future development, he’ll have a legitimate chance at reaching it within a few years. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1860341-2014-mlb-mock-draft-early-first-round-projections-for-all-30-teams/page/10
