Draft 14 – Tyler Beede, Sean Newcomb, Michael Gettys, Josh Morgan

1-20-14 – PG Preseason College All-Americans - Starting Pitcher - Tyler Beede, Vanderbilt - 2013 Stats: 2.32 ERA, 101 IP, 103 K , 63 BB, .187 OPP BA - The former Blue Jays first-round pick out of high school should emulate that selection next summer in the MLB draft, and for good reason. Beede is already one of the nation’s elite pitchers, and most would say he hasn't reached his full potential. Beede has a fastball anywhere from 90-95, along with a good 80-83 curveball. However, the biggest difference for Beede this season could be the development of his low-80s changeup and potentially improved command. Beede is ranked the nation’s No. 5 college prospect. http://www.perfectgame.org/Articles/View.aspx?article=9294

1-3-14 – TTF Baseball - 10. New York Mets — Sean Newcomb, LHP, Hartford - The 6’-5”, 240 pound southpaw was among the leaders in K/9 with a 11.5 mark this season thanks to a fastball that can touch 95 mph. Over 13 starts, he had a 3.75 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 92 K/37 BB over 72 innings while holding hitters to a .213 batting average. With increased improvement of his command, as well as secondary stuff, he should be a big name to watch next year. http://throughthefencebaseball.com/2014-mlb-draft-2/40753#ppGUqI6CbWFvzsPf.99

12-9-13 – Pine Tar Press  -  8-OF/RHP Michael Gettys Gainesville HS (Georgia Commit) 10/22/95- He is probably the most exciting player in this draft with his 5 tool potential as an OF and his powerful arm off the mound. I like him, as a position player personally as his tool set is game changing. He has plus speed with a plus arm (throwing 100 from RF in a showcase) but with his aggressive approach he still lacks the elite status because of his swing and miss potential.
